In a career that spans stage, screen and television, Swedish actress Lisa Werlinder has become renowned for tackling challenging roles and for her powerful and versatile performances. Lisa Werlinder has been working with Academy Award-winning directors like Steven Spielberg, Ingmar Bergman and Bille August. In 2005, Lisa Werlinder had a part in Steven Spielberg's "Munich", which was nominated for 5 Academy Awards, and this year, she is starring in the upcoming drama "The Black Pimpernel" and in the Norwegian thriller "Torpedo". Lisa Werlinder's performance as Maria in the highly acclaimed and Award-winning Danish film "The Inheritance", directed by Per Fly, was hailed by the critics and earned her a nomination for the Danish Academy Award. TIME Magazine described her as "a marvel". Upon graduating from the Swedish Theatre Academy, Lisa Werlinder was immediately picked by Ingmar Bergman to work with him at the prestigious Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, where she has since starred in several productions: most recently as Cordelia in "King Lear". Lisa Werlinder is often seen in Scandinavian film and television. She was featured in "A Song for Martin", directed by the Palme D'Or, Academy Award and Golden Globe winning director Bille August, "Gossip" directed by Colin Nutley and "Doubleshift" by Maria Essén among other films. Lisa Werlinder is also a jazzsinger and saxophone-player. She opened the Stockholm Jazz Festival in 2003.
